"I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
How different is this approach of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from that of our current civil rights leaders such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Rev. Jeremiah Wright whose constant rhetoric tells us to judge the white man because he is white.
Affirmative Action judges people by the color of their skin and not the content of their character. Rather than choosing a student for college based on their academic skill they are chosen based on their race.
How many people voted for Barack Obama simply because he is black without knowing a thing about his character or the platforms on which he was running for president?
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream has not been realized, and will not be, realized regardless of how many African-American presidents we have, until we judge all people based on the content of their character and not on the color of their skin.
